Anxiety – Rise From the Grave

anxiety depression
Kacy Carr questioned:

In some cases of anxiety and depression a patient clings to hope by taking anti-depressant drugs hoping it is the answer to their prayers in relieving the symptoms of their depression. It has been proven that certain drugs that work for some people do not for others.

Anti-depressants have an enormous affect on chemicals in the brain thus encouraging mood changes. Drugs (Anti-depressants) can help anxiety sufferers to cope, but, anti-depressants are not a cure, they are there to help control a condition.

Any healing process involving drug consumption can take a few weeks for the drug to work. It is vital to follow through with any course of prescribed medicine dosage other wise it will hamper the healing power. Anxiety/depression can cause major disturbances in a persons life where they become dependant on medicinal drugs. Not all prescriptions of this sort agree with people therefore you can expect unwanted side effects. Discontinue any medication if you feel it is disagreeing with your body and consult your doctor.

Pill popping is an simple option to take away pain from backache – headache etc, but, is it the answer to a cure, no it is a temporary fix for discomfort.

Natural treatment (herbal remedies) are taken by a vast amount of sufferers in the 21st century to help combat stress and pressure brought on by anxiety /depression and panic attacks. Depression can be a very disturbing mind meddler where lack of control and concentration is lost due to how it interferes with your well being – leaving you feeling low and in some cases at an all time low when in desperation a patient can end up harming them self

A proven therapeutic method practiced the whole world over for people with depression is Yoga. Surprisingly not many people are aware of the benefits that yoga has to offer. It is known to ease the mind and has the ability to ease physical pain (depending on the condition) If you feel there are no answers behind why your nervous moments occur – and that it is time to swallow a tablet, then reckon again, are you doing more harm than excellent.

Dealing with nervous moments can prove to be unsettling for some. Nervous moments should not be ignored if they prolong, long periods then become recognized as the start of anxiety/depression.

An early grave has been the answer for some patients who found coping alone with anxiety caused more pain than really dealing with it.

Are you a sufferer of the type of anxiety that leaves you feeling life is not worth living or wishing you were dead, if so, rise from the grave in your thoughts and seek help. You are not alone and with the right help you can delight in the experience of feeling on top of the world rather than six feet under.

Finding a Depression Treatment That Works for you

anxiety depression
Abigail Franks questioned:

Anxiety and depression seem to be on the rise in many parts of the world. The increased anxiety after September 11 has caused many people to look fondly at the past well hoping for a better future. In the meantime, it is necessary for many to seek treatment for anxiety and depression if only to be able to continue to function.

While anxiety is a term used to mean excessive worry or dread and depression is considered feelings of sadness and hopelessness, they’re both very closely related with very similar treatment plans. Although there are a number of options available, it’s vital to get an accurate diagnosis from a qualified psychological counselor. It’s also critical that you visit your medical doctor, if only to eliminate physical causes that may have triggered the anxiety depression.

Here’s a few of the strategies that have been successfully used to treat anxiety and depression. Know that while all have been shown effective to some degree, they don’t all work for all people.

Medications:

Certain types of medications known as SSRI or Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors work to increase the serotonin levels in your brain. These antidepressant meds have been able to be used successfully to treat many of the more common anxiety disorders. Although depression is generally recognized as being caused by low levels of chemicals in the brain, it seems to respond well to medication regimen. This in turn can help with various anxiety symptoms even though anxiety is more closely related to phobias and fears.

The Therapeutic Counseling:

Some of the most effective counseling is known as cognitive therapy. This behavior therapy is a type of psychotherapy that helps a person to recognize the thinking patterns that may have caused the anxiety disorder or depression. Psychotherapeutic counseling is especially effective with various phobias also.

Natural Anxiety and Depression Treatments:

There are many products on the market that all claim to cure various illnesses, disorders and disease. The reality is that many of these claims have not or cannot be verified through independent research. This means that even though it product claims to be the “miracle cure” these claims are based on testimonials. This isn’t to say that there are not some natural mood elevating strategies that one can use.

These mood elevating strategies include getting more sunlight. It’s no secret that in the winter when the days are shorter, there are more of us suffer from depression. I purposely going out into the sunlight for a least 30 minutes a day, it’s possible to help raise your mood level and fight off depression.

Another effective method to change your perspective and elevate your mental state is to exercise. A brisk walk or other exercise program lasting at least 30 minutes can elevate the endorphins. These chemicals in the brain can give you an nearly positive euphoric feeling that is also an effective treatment for depression.

Although there are many other treatment methods, these have been found to be the most effective. Many anxiety and depression sufferers find that a combination of treatment strategies is required to effectively feel better and function.

Anxiety, Depression and Rage: How Therapy and Counseling Can Help- From Crystal Lake

anxiety depression
Mike Shery questioned:

The most obvious dysfunctional behaviors you will be helped to eliminate are panicking at the first sign of distress, indulging a pessimism that seems to have a life of its own, using irrational stubborn behavior and having a mindset of HAVING to be right!

Some other defense mechanisms to avoid include blaming others, losing your temper, talking more than listening and using mind-altering substances to reduce anxiety.

It will take work and deliberate effort to remove them from your life but if you do not work on changing these behaviors now you will be prolonging your treatment time.

If you would like more rapidly successful therapy, develop a chart to monitor your progress in reducing these behaviors and work it seriously. Counseling and therapy are often associated with a person who is troubled but intelligent and desirous of enhancing his or her quality of life.

The IQs of those entering therapy are sometimes much higher than those who do not. Similarly, counseling for adults can be simpler than for teens; the latter have dysfunctional ways of coping of which they are unaware and sometimes their ability to reflect on their emotions is limited or seems overwhelming.

In some serious cases, patients have to take anti-depressant or anti-anxiety medication along with their counseling and psychotherapy. The most well loved kind of counseling today is called cognitive-behavioral.

This type of therapy can sometimes achieve positive results in 3 to 6 months. Patients are taught to become aware of their subconscious thoughts that cause painful feelings or behavioral symptoms.

Also, reviewing your familys history of problems can speed things up by helping you to become even more aware of thoughts and behaviors that have been passed down from generation to generation in your family. Some of your resulting insights will be startling.

How about a technique that could help you replace the family symptoms with more constructive behavior? Sound excellent? Well, cognitive re-structuring will help you with that.

This technique inventories the subconscious thought patterns you received inadvertently from your family that cause your rage, depression and anxiety to rear their hideous heads. The therapist helps you to learn these unhealthy thought patterns and helps you to nearly magically transform them so that your rage, anxiety and depression are eliminated.

This counseling technique is also safe, because it is drug-free and when used by a professional counselor, it virtually has no side effects. Writing your thoughts down two or three times a day, then discussing them with your counselor or psychologist can help minimize and re-shape, if not eliminate, these unhealthy thinking patterns and the anxiety that is caused by them.

Also, practicing time-tested relaxation exercises can help if you are having serious anxiety problems, such as panic attacks or irrational fears. It is likely that genes can play a not insignificant role in the development of your vulnerability to episodes of anxiety or depression.

Some researchers believe that there are certain genes that affect a persons likelihood of developing emotional problems. Some believe that the connection is how certain people metabolize various chemicals and hormones that are related to emotional reactivity; rates and efficiency of their metabolism may be impaired in these people, causing more emotional discomfort.

Stress is clearly related to anxiety and is something that cannot be avoided. It is an everyday circumstance and may arise in any given situation.

Though the link between severe stress and heart attack is established, other dysfunctional behaviors have recently been linked to it: chronic rage and rage.

Although the relationship is somewhat hazy, researchers are learning more about it.

One theory is that rage causes the bodys nervous and circulatory systems to prepare to fight danger, causing blood vessels to constrict, blood pressure to increase and the heart to work harder. This might cause cardiac stress which would be sufficient to lead to a heart attack.
